Welcome
Nature and Forest Therapy in the U.P.
The forest is the therapist, the guide opens the door

The forest is the therapist, the guide opens the door
First of all, it's not traditional therapy! Its a guided immersive experience in nature where the forest, or the nature setting, is used for a relaxing, beautiful, healing and renewing effect. The practice originated in Japan called Shinrin-Yoku, translated "forest bathing" or "forest therapy." The forest is the therapist, the guide opens the door.
Our forest therapy guiding takes place in the western Upper Peninsula (U.P.) of Michigan. Additionally, guiding is offered on the shore of Lake Superior at Little Girls Point near Ironwood and at an old copper mine site near Rockland. Those sites offer added experiences of rock hunting or metal detecting.
Julie Worley is a resident of the U.P. and is nationally certified by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs. She is also a PhD prepared family, psychiatric and addictions nurse practitioner as well as a certified life coach.
